Epi-IBD 2010
The Epi-IBD 2010 cohort is a European prospective population-based inception cohort of patients diagnosed in 2010 with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis or inflammatory bowel disease unclassified. The aim of the study is to investigate and compare IBD incidence, clinical presentation, disease outcome, treatment choices, and the impact of such choices in disease course across Europe. A total of 31 centres from 14 Western and 8 Eastern European countries are participating in the cohort. Prospective follow-up is ongoing.
Epi-IBD 2011
The Epi-IBD 2011 cohort is a European prospective population-based inception cohort of patients diagnosed in 2011 with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis or inflammatory bowel disease unclassified. The methodology and aims of the cohort are identical to the Epi-IBD 2010 cohort and the cohort serves as both a validation cohort of the Epi-IBD 2010 cohort as well as an independent cohort. A total of 14 centres from 8 Western and 5 Eastern European countries as well as one Australian centre are participating. Prospective follow-up is ongoing.
